Project Summary

Support from ICAP Charity Day has played a crucial role in supporting the Chronic Illness Peer Support Program (ChIPS) for young people and Children aged between 15-25 living with a chronic health condition. This program is run by young people for young people. Funding supported:

1. The creation of AnD Interns to build employment pathways for those living with chronic health conditions.

Funding from ICAP has allowed the ChIPS service space to shift from reactional programming as initiated by COVID complexities, to a thoughtful and responsive clinical service. The service now has capacity to pilot quality improvement and research initiatives, and provide a robust evidence base for best practice in design, delivery and evaluation of adolescent and young adult (AYA) service and programme delivery. Learnings and outcomes from these initiatives will support future implementation within other AYA spaces across Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation

2. Branding and promotional material to continue to build awareness of the program.

ICAP's support has been instrumental in fostering the sustainable implementation of newly designed clinical streams. These streams aim to enhance health literacy, self-management skills, and social development. The funds have contributed to material costs, postage, guest presenters, and sensory equipment, ensuring the success of this initiative.
