People born with cleft palates have difficulties eating, drinking and speaking. 1 in 10 babies die before their first birthday due to consequent malnutrition and infections. ICAP’ s donation will make it possible for more children to access treatment, so that they too, can enjoy a healthy life.

Charity Overview

Operation Smile South Africa provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip & cleft palate for children & adults around the globe. It is the largest surgical charity of its kind and leads the research into the causes of cleft lips and palates, as well as prevention, treatment and eradication. To date, Operation Smile has made it possible for more than 220,000 children born with cleft lips or palates to access free surgical procedures.
