Charity Overview
Samaritans of Wellington provides a 24 hour telephone helpline for people who are distressed, lonely, bereaved, mentally unwell or suicidal. Samaritans take around 30,000 calls each year, assisting people from all walks of life, all ages, different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and different socio-economic circumstances. The charity’s vision is to reduce suicide rates and increase support where people are able to openly talk about their feelings.
