Shakespeare's Globe Trust

Charity Overview

Shakespeare's Globe is a unique international resource dedicated to the exploration of Shakespeare's work and the playhouses for which he wrote, through the connected means of performance and education.  Together, the Globe Theatre, Globe Exhibition & Tour and Globe Education seek to further the experience and international understanding of Shakespeare, particularly in relation to performance.

Unlike many national institutions, Shakespeare’s Globe receives no statutory funding and is self-financing in overall terms. The charity believe Shakespeare should be accessible to all. With that in mind, it provides opportunities to engage with Shakespeare from primary school age to pensioners. The rebuilding and opening of the iconic building in 1997 has been a focal point for communities to gather and celebrate. It is the Trusts aim to broaden this further in providing best in class infrastructure for its visitors, from of all walks of life.
