Apprenticeships are recognised as a valuable route into employment delivering continued formal education, as well as professional skills. For some young people this is an appropriate aspiration however, others lack the confidence, skills or maturity to present themselves positively to a prospective employer. The ICAP Route To Apprenticeship programme will equip young people at risk of falling out of education or employment with the skills they need to succeed in life and work.

Charity Overview

SkillForce is a national education charity, working with schools to help transform lives. SkillForce currently supports young people in 200 primary and secondary schools across England, Wales and Scotland, preparing them for their next steps in education, work or training.

The charity draws on the skills of predominantly ex-service personnel who now wish to serve their community and inspire young people to succeed. Instructors deliver motivational mentoring and proven education programmes which develop self-confidence, resilience and character.

HRH The Duke of Cambridge KG KT is SkillForce’s Royal Patron and has given the charity the only two awards in his name – The Prince’s Award (14-19 year olds) and the Junior Prince Award (9-14 year olds).
