Friendship Works improves the emotional well-being, resilience and life chances of disadvantaged children and young people, in London, aged between 5-18 via its long-term mentoring.

The charity’s service aims to:

  • Improve children’s social and emotional development through access to quality friendship.
  • Enable children to have better self-esteem, a strong sense of identity and increased resilience.
  • Broaden children’s horizons through access to new opportunities.

Friendship Works recruit and train adult volunteer mentors who commit to meeting with a young person three times a month, for a minimum of two years.
