Cystic Fibrosis Queensland

Charity Overview

Cystic fibrosis is the most common life-shortening, recessive genetic condition affecting Australian children. The disease attacks the digestive system and slowly shuts down the lungs. Cystic fibrosis is usually diagnosed shortly after birth, and there is currently no cure.

Cystic Fibrosis Queensland exists to extend the lives of people living with this life-threatening disease. The charity does this by providing essential services, such as counselling, accommodation, equipment, advocacy, home physiotherapy and education to help the 850 young Queenslanders affected by this deadly illness, and their families.
