Charity Overview

The Association of Amputee Surfers (AmpSurf) is a non-profit organistion which promotes, inspires, educates and rehabilitates veterans, developmentally disabled and special needs athletes through Adaptive Surfing Therapy and the healing power of the ocean.

AmpSurf's Rockaway Beach/Breezy Point, New York Chapter is one of four chapters nationwide. Their trained instructors, with decades of surfing, swimming and lifeguarding experience are trained both in and out of the water during an 8 hour training including First Aid/CPR/AED. They also have 20 volunteer water assistants / support staff who assist in and out of the water.
