Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for older people on their own. A donation from ICAP Charity Day will fund the Community Christmas service which matches older people in need of company at Christmas with events in their local areas or volunteer telephone callers. Older people who take part are also invited to join our year-round services.

Charity Overview

Re-engage tackles loneliness for some of the oldest and most vulnerable people in the UK. Their beneficiaries are on average age 85, almost all live alone and often have few friends or family left. Many have experienced near-constant loneliness. With the help of thousands of dedicated volunteers, they provide isolated older people with regular companionship in their local communities or over the phone. Their services are designed to help long-term friendships flourish between people of all ages. Older people tell the charity that being part of Re-engage gives them something to look forward to and makes them happier.
