Project Summary

Early in January 2016, the Eden Centre for Adults in Clementi officially opened its doors to the public. Situated in a close-knit residential community, the centre organises social, recreational and professional activities for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

ICAP Charity Day is about improving the lives of others. It is a great feeling knowing that our efforts are benefiting those at the Eden Centre for Adults. I would like to extend my gratitude to the Autism Association (Singapore) for this partnership and to the staff at ICAP for all that they have done.
Danny Cheung, CEO of ICAP Singapore

Through its programming, the centre aims to develop the strengths and capacities of adults with autism to maximise their potential for living a meaningful, dignified and independent life. The Eden Centre’s opening day was full of smiles as distinguished guests, corporate sponsors and proud parents were given a comprehensive tour around the centre and its facilities.

Thanks to ICAP’s fundraising efforts in 2015, a large donation was awarded to the Autism Association (Singapore) to benefit the operations of the Eden Centre in both its Clementi and Hougang locations.

ICAP’s donation went towards funding a Day Activity Centre, which provides training and support to adults with moderate to severe autism.

The CEO of ICAP Singapore, Danny Cheung, was present at the Eden Centre opening day in Clementi.  He received a token of appreciation from the Minister of Social and Family Development, Tan Chuan-Jin, and the President of Autism Association (Singapore), Ho Swee Huat.

In his welcome speech, Mr Ho extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the centre’s corporate sponsors including ICAP saying, “Today, I stand here, being reminded that many institutions and individuals have contributed to the setting up of this Eden Centre for Adults and would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge them for their significant financial contributions.”
