Suicide is one of the last taboos, many people do not talk about it. Suicide is the biggest killer of men aged 20-45 and the male suicide rate is three times higher than females, with most men finding it hard to talk about their feelings. Support from ICAP will fund a media campaign targeted at key London football stadiums to raise men's awareness of suicide, encouraging them to reach out for support and talk about their suicidal thoughts and feelings.

Charity Overview

Maytree aims to reach all those experiencing suicidal crisis so that they have somewhere safe to go where they will be heard, understood and supported. The organisation is a unique national charity which helps people in suicide crisis by providing non-medical specialised emotional befriending support and a safe, calm, relaxed and confidential place to stay.

Maytree’s support is free to all regardless of age, gender, background, status, faith or sexuality. The charity serve the whole of the UK, and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including Christmas Day. Maytree also help family and friends of those facing suicide crisis.
