Charity Overview

The J9 Foundation was founded by rugby legend, Joost van der Westhuizen who was diagnosed with Motor Neuron disease in 2011. J9 aims to raise awareness and support those suffering from this debilitating condition, by educating medical practitioners as well as the general public about Motor Neuron Disease and its devastating effects on patients and their families.  The foundation offer emotional and physical care to patients after their initial diagnosis, provide medical equipment and counselling whilst also ensuring that families are supported financially as required.
