Charity Overview

The Country Education Foundation of Australia (CEF) helps disadvantaged rural and regional communities in Australia to establish their own local education foundations. These local foundations raise funds to provide grants to local school leavers who need a helping hand in order to make the transition into further education, training or gaining employment. These students face huge barriers pursuing careers, due to their geographic isolation and the foundation exists to help them overcome these obstacles. The foundation has over 20 tertiary education partners, universities and colleges, that provide additional grants to recipients.

CEF operate through a family of 400 volunteers across 42 locations in New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Territory and South Australia. The charity provide the students with items they cannot afford, such as text-books, tools, equipment, transport, accommodation and computers.
