America SCORES

America SCORES is a national after school programme that serves 8,000 low-income students at 175 public schools in North America. A donation from ICAP will enable America SCORES to launch a training programme for 30 trainers as well as provide a platform to integrate marginalised groups and improve attitudes within the local communities.

Charity Overview

Established in 1994, America SCORES is the first US national organisation to create a sustainable and replicable model that brings soccer to urban areas through a holistic after school programme. The charity is the largest urban school-based soccer organisation in the United States.

America SCORES uses sport as a vehicle, bringing teams into the classroom to discover their voices through poetry. Together the students use these skills to create positive change. The model has proven that children who experience success on the field also excel in the classroom and in the community.
