Shelterbox

Charity Overview

Every year thousands of families around the world are made homeless by natural and manmade disasters. ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that works to provide emergency shelter and other vital equipment to affected families by delivering boxes of aid – ShelterBoxes. Every ShelterBox contains items families need to survive in the immediate aftermath of a disaster, such as a specially designed disaster relief tent, blankets, groundsheets, a tool-kit and mosquito nets. Founded in Cornwall in 2000, ShelterBox has responded to over 220 disasters in nearly 90 countries, helping over 130,000 families in need.
