The National Osteoporosis Society

Charity Overview

Each year osteoporosis causes 300,000 broken bones and nearly 14,000 needless deaths. This can devastate lives, robbing people of mobility and independence, and drastically reducing their quality of life. The National Osteoporosis Society is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and fragility fractures. It provides life-changing information and support to people with, or at risk of, osteoporosis. This includes the provision of specialist training to health professionals, funding for research and raising awareness of the condition through its campaigning.
